Zap to remember? electrical stimulation tested for memory loss

NCT ID NCT05289804

Summary

This study tested whether gentle electrical stimulation applied to the skin could help improve memory in older adults with mild cognitive impairment. Participants were randomly assigned to receive either real stimulation or one of three control procedures while completing memory tasks. Researchers measured how well people remembered word associations immediately after the session, one week later, and four weeks later to see if the stimulation had lasting effects.
