Can a pill erase painful memories? scientists test drug for trauma and addiction
NCT ID NCT05902819
Summary
This study tested whether a drug called minocycline could help reduce the power of painful, intrusive memories in people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or cocaine addiction. Researchers gave 138 participants either minocycline or a placebo pill before sessions where they deliberately recalled their traumatic or drug-related memories. The goal was to see if the drug could make these distressing memories less frequent and less intense over time.
