Zap to remember? brain stimulation trial aims to slow memory loss

NCT ID NCT05289804

Summary

This study tested whether a gentle, non-invasive electrical stimulation on the neck could help people with early memory problems (mild cognitive impairment) remember things better over weeks. 80 participants aged 50+ were randomly assigned to receive either the real stimulation or one of three different control procedures. The main goal was to see if the stimulation improved performance on a word memory task immediately, one week later, and four weeks later.
