Drug tested to help stroke patients regain movement

NCT ID NCT02144584

Summary

This is a small, early-stage study to see if a drug called memantine is safe and might help people recover movement in their arms and legs after a recent stroke. Twenty participants with arm weakness from a stroke will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo pill. The main goals are to check for side effects and see if the study design works, to prepare for a larger future trial.
