Sleep hormone pill tested against bleeding drug for stubborn skin patches

NCT ID NCT07169383

ENROLLING_BY_INVITATION Disease control Sponsor: Hina Malik Source: ClinicalTrials.gov ↗

Summary

This study is testing if a pill containing melatonin, a hormone your body makes for sleep, works better than a pill containing tranexamic acid, a medicine often used to reduce bleeding, for treating melasma. Melasma causes dark, patchy skin on the face. About 160 adults with melasma will take one of these pills daily for 12 weeks to see which one lightens the skin patches more effectively.
