Could a sleep hormone help PCOS? new trial tests Melatonin-Metformin combo
NCT ID NCT07307677
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether adding melatonin to the standard drug metformin can improve insulin resistance in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) better than metformin alone. Sixty women with PCOS and insulin resistance will be split into two groups: one gets melatonin plus metformin, the other gets metformin only. After three months, researchers will measure changes in insulin resistance, body mass index, and waist size to see if the combination offers extra benefits.
