Sleep hormone added to common PCOS drug in new treatment trial
NCT ID NCT07307677
Summary
This study is testing whether adding the sleep-regulating hormone melatonin to the standard diabetes drug metformin works better than metformin alone for women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) who have insulin resistance. Sixty women with PCOS will be randomly assigned to take either the combination or just metformin for three months. Researchers will measure changes in insulin resistance, body weight, and waist size to see if the combination offers more benefits.
