Sleep aid trial offers hope for traumatized Kids' nights
NCT ID NCT07418554
Summary
This study is testing whether a long-acting melatonin pill can help children and teenagers with PTSD who have serious, ongoing sleep problems like trouble falling asleep, frequent waking, or nightmares. Researchers want to see if improving sleep also helps reduce daytime PTSD symptoms, anxiety, and improves overall mental health for the children and their families. The trial will compare the melatonin pill to a placebo (a pill with no medicine) in about 120 participants aged 2 to 17.5 years.
