Sleep hormone tested as safer alternative for millions with back pain

NCT ID NCT06476392

Summary

This study is testing whether melatonin, a natural sleep hormone, can help people with long-term lower back pain. It will compare melatonin pills against placebo pills in 220 adults to see which one better reduces pain and improves sleep over 6 weeks. The goal is to find a safer treatment option with fewer side effects than common pain medications.
