Freezing tumors to boost immune attack on stubborn melanoma

NCT ID NCT05779423

Summary

This study is testing if freezing one growing tumor (cryoablation) while giving two immunotherapy drugs (ipilimumab and nivolumab) can help control advanced melanoma that has continued to grow despite prior immunotherapy. It aims to see if this combination is safe and effective for about 37 adults with this condition. The approach is based on the idea that freezing a tumor may help the immune system better recognize and fight the cancer elsewhere in the body.
