Doctors test tailored melanoma treatment based on surgery response
NCT ID NCT04741997
Summary
This study tests whether treatment decisions for advanced melanoma can be personalized based on how well tumors respond to drug therapy before surgery. Patients with specific genetic mutations receive targeted drugs before surgery, then get different follow-up treatments depending on whether the drugs eliminated all visible cancer cells. The goal is to prevent cancer from returning while avoiding unnecessary treatment for those who respond well initially.
