Phone app could spot deadly skin cancer as well as a doctor

NCT ID NCT03699995

Summary

This study is testing whether photos taken with smartphone apps and special imaging devices can be as good as a visit to a dermatologist for finding melanoma early. Researchers are comparing three portable imaging systems to see how accurately they can identify suspicious moles that need a biopsy. The goal is to improve remote skin cancer screening so people can get checked more easily.
