Major trial questions need for second surgery in melanoma patients

Summary
This study tests whether people with melanoma can safely avoid a second surgery (re-excision) after the initial tumor is removed. About 1,749 adults with early to advanced melanoma but no spread will be randomly assigned to get standard re-excision or no further surgery. Researchers will track cancer return, survival, side effects, and quality of life to see if skipping re-excision is safe and beneficial.
