New hope for deadly brain tumors from skin cancer

NCT ID NCT02374242

Summary

This study is testing whether two immunotherapy drugs, nivolumab alone or nivolumab combined with ipilimumab, can help control melanoma that has spread to the brain. It enrolled 76 adults with these brain metastases. The goal is to see if these drugs, which help the immune system fight cancer, can shrink the brain tumors and improve survival for a condition with very few good treatment options.
