Summary

This pilot study is testing a community-based educational program to see if it can increase knowledge about melanoma and other skin cancers and encourage people to check their own skin. About 45 adults in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn will take a class led by a community health worker and complete surveys and follow-up visits over a year. The goal is to see if this kind of program can help people spot warning signs earlier.
