Summary

This study tested whether giving very high doses of vitamin C to people with sepsis (a severe infection that can cause organ failure) could reduce the risk of death within 28 days. 234 adults in the ICU received either vitamin C or a placebo for up to 4 days. The main goal was to see if vitamin C lowered death rates.
