NCT ID NCT07089017
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new device called Medstrom that monitors pain, sedation, and muscle relaxation all in one during laparoscopic colon cancer surgery. Thirty patients will be randomly assigned to either the Medstrom device or standard monitoring. The goal is to see if the device works as well as current methods and if it can help doctors make faster, better decisions during surgery.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Medstrom medical device (pain, sedation, and neuromuscular monitoring system)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this device could provide a simpler, faster way to monitor patients during surgery, potentially reducing anesthesia-related complications.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early feasibility study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The device could cause skin irritation or signal errors.
