Pregnancy diet study aims to stop the 'Allergy Epidemic' in kids

NCT ID NCT05119868

Summary

This study is testing whether following a Mediterranean diet during pregnancy can help prevent children from developing allergies by age two. Researchers will enroll about 276 healthy pregnant women and randomly assign them to follow either the Mediterranean diet or their usual diet. The main goal is to see if the children of mothers on the special diet have fewer allergies, while also checking effects on the mother's pregnancy health, the baby's growth, and even gut bacteria.
