NCT ID NCT07332078

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested whether a low-cost food storage cabinet called a "meatsafe" could reduce diarrhea in children aged 6 to 24 months in low-income areas of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Researchers compared households that received the cabinet and food safety education with those that did not. They measured bacterial contamination in stored food and tracked diarrhea cases over time. The goal was to see if this simple tool could help keep children healthier in settings without reliable refrigeration.
