Scientists develop First-Ever 'Report Card' for tech that helps paralyzed people use computers

NCT ID NCT07407725

Summary

This study aims to create a standard test to measure how well different assistive technologies and brain-computer interfaces help people with severe motor impairments from spinal cord injury or ALS use computers and phones. Researchers will have 60 participants, including people with these conditions and healthy volunteers, try various tools while performing simulated online tasks. The goal is to develop a scoring system that can objectively compare how much these technologies improve a person's digital independence.
