NCT ID NCT07356050
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether children with sickle cell disease (SCD) develop enough antibodies after getting the measles vaccine. Researchers will enroll 130 children aged 6 months to 6 years who are due for their measles shots. Blood samples will be taken a few weeks after each dose to check if their immune system responds well.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
measles vaccine
What this could lead to
If successful, this could confirm that standard measles vaccination works well for children with sickle cell disease, helping guide their care.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not testing a new treatment. It only measures immune response, not long-term protection or prevention of measles.
