Summary

This study looks at whether providing medically tailored meals and shakes for 12 days after orthopedic trauma surgery can improve healing and nutrition. About 75 adults who live in certain Los Angeles zip codes will receive the meals at home through Meals on Wheels. Researchers will check blood markers and wound healing at 2 and 6 weeks after surgery, and follow patients for up to a year.
