Breakthrough therapy tested for veterans haunted by trauma and addiction
NCT ID NCT07118839
Summary
This study is testing whether therapy sessions combined with the drug MDMA can help military veterans who struggle with both post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and alcohol use disorder. Researchers will compare the full MDMA-assisted therapy to a similar therapy with a very low, inactive dose of MDMA. The main goals are to see if the treatment safely reduces PTSD symptoms, improves daily functioning, and helps participants drink less alcohol.
