Psychedelic-Assisted therapy trial aims to transform PTSD treatment

NCT ID NCT07288151

Summary

This study is testing whether a single dose of MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy) given during intensive therapy sessions can help people with PTSD more than therapy alone. Researchers will enroll 200 adults with PTSD who will receive either MDMA or a placebo during their second therapy session, then track their symptoms for one month. The goal is to see if this combination leads to stronger and longer-lasting improvement in PTSD symptoms.
