Scientists scan brains to see how MDMA therapy eases chronic pain

NCT ID NCT06066853

Summary

This early-stage study is investigating whether therapy sessions with the drug MDMA can help reduce the chronic pain of fibromyalgia. Researchers will use special brain scans on 20 participants to see how the treatment might change brain activity and improve the patient-therapist relationship. The goal is to understand if this approach can ease pain symptoms and how it works in the brain.
