Summary

This study looks at two different shapes of a device called a laryngoscope, which doctors use to place a breathing tube when a patient is under anesthesia. The newer shape, called the McGrath X-blade, matches the curve of the tongue better than the traditional shape. Researchers want to see if using the X-blade in all patients helps place the tube successfully on the first try. About 500 adults having surgery will take part.
