First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tested whether playing a recording of a mother's voice to premature babies in the NICU could change their brain activity, measured by EEG. Researchers enrolled 14 infants born between 28 and 32 weeks. The goal was to see if the voice recording could serve as a marker for better development, but the study was terminated early.
