Major NYC hospital trial aims to stop a top killer of new mothers
NCT ID NCT06145724
Summary
This study is testing a new hospital safety program designed to prevent sepsis, a life-threatening infection that is a leading cause of death for mothers during and after childbirth. The program involves training staff, improving how sepsis is spotted and treated, and incorporating feedback from the community. Researchers will compare infection rates in over 33,000 patients before and after the program is put in place at four New York City hospitals.
