New study tests CT scans against gold standard for heart disease detection
NCT ID NCT04316676
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study compared two types of heart scans—CT and PET—to see how well they measure blood flow in people with coronary artery disease. Twenty adults who already needed a CT scan for their heart took part. The goal was to find out if the newer CT method works as well as the standard PET scan, which could lead to faster and less invasive diagnosis in the future.
