New study tests better pain relief for mastectomy patients

NCT ID NCT06574022

Summary

This study compares two standard methods for delivering numbing medicine to breast cancer patients having a total mastectomy. Researchers want to see which approach—giving the numbing medicine before surgery versus during surgery—better controls pain and reduces the need for opioid painkillers after the operation. The trial involves 100 participants and measures pain levels, opioid use, and patient satisfaction during recovery.
