Nerve block tested to slash pain after breast cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT06276257

Summary

This study aims to see if a specific nerve block (paravertebral block) is better than standard pain medication at reducing pain after mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. Researchers will enroll 60 women to compare pain levels and opioid use in the first 72 hours after surgery and check for chronic pain at 3 months. The goal is to find better ways to manage post-surgical pain and potentially prevent long-term pain syndromes.
