Massage chair study: athletes vs. Non-Athletes on stress recovery
NCT ID NCT07529678
First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a 20-minute session in an automated massage chair could help healthy young women (ages 19-26) recover from stress, as measured by heart rate changes. Researchers compared 10 university athletes to 10 inactive students to see if fitness level made a difference. The results show how the body's relaxation system responds to massage, but this was a small, short-term study with no direct treatment goal.
