First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether adding the drug maraviroc to standard HIV treatment could help improve immune function in people whose CD4 counts remain low even when the virus is well-controlled. It involved 60 HIV-positive adults with low CD4 counts and little recent immune improvement. Participants took maraviroc for 24 weeks, and researchers monitored their immune recovery and safety for up to 48 weeks.
