First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This Phase 2 trial tests a new drug called MAR002 in 72 adults with acromegaly, a condition caused by a pituitary tumor that leads to too much growth hormone. Participants will receive either MAR002 or a placebo as injections under the skin. The study will check if the drug is safe and if it lowers IGF-1 levels, a key marker of the disease, over 10 weeks.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for acromegaly that helps control hormone levels and symptoms.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 72 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may not work better than placebo or could cause side effects.
