Summary

This pilot study explores whether a gentle manual therapy applied to the hip bone, in addition to standard treatment with a Pavlik harness, can improve hip joint coverage in infants with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). Thirty infants aged 1 to 5 months with moderate to severe DDH will be randomly assigned to receive either the manual therapy plus standard care or standard care alone. Ultrasound measurements will compare changes in hip coverage before and after the three-week intervention period. The study also aims to assess how acceptable the therapy is to parents, providing preliminary data for a larger future trial.
