Mango vs. sugar: which is better for your gut?
NCT ID NCT07650058
First seen Jun 19, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether replacing table sugar with fresh mango in a high-sugar breakfast can reduce gut inflammation and leakiness. Thirty-five healthy adults will eat two different breakfasts—one sweetened with mango, the other with sugar—and have their blood tested over three hours. The goal is to see if mango's fiber and natural compounds help protect the gut barrier.
