Summary
This program offers eltrombopag to patients with serious or life-threatening thrombocytopenia (low platelet counts) who have no other treatment options and cannot join a clinical trial. A licensed physician must request the drug, and the potential benefit must outweigh the risks. The goal is to control the disease by raising platelet levels, not to cure it.
