New malaria vaccine tested on hundreds of african children

NCT ID NCT05155579

Summary

This study tested the safety and immune response of a new malaria vaccine called R21/Matrix-M in nearly 600 young children in Mali. Researchers compared different ways of preparing and scheduling the vaccine, and checked if it was safe to give alongside other standard childhood shots. The main goal was to see if the vaccine was safe and if it triggered a good immune response in children living in an area where malaria is common.
