New dual defense tested to shield babies from malaria

NCT ID NCT06461026

Summary

This study is testing a one-time antibody injection (L9LS) to see if it is safe for infants and if it interferes with a later malaria vaccine. It involves 180 healthy infants in Mali, aged 1 to 12 months. Researchers will give some infants the antibody and others a placebo, then later give all infants the standard malaria vaccine to compare their immune responses and safety.
