First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 39 times

Summary

This study aims to understand how malaria grows in the body, how the immune system responds, and how the parasite spreads from people to mosquitoes. Healthy adults aged 18 to 54 will be given a controlled malaria infection through donated blood. Participants will be monitored closely, may be bitten by mosquitoes in a lab setting, and will receive standard malaria treatment at the end. The goal is to gather data to help develop future vaccines and treatments.
