Magnetic spine zaps may help Parkinson's patients walk better

NCT ID NCT05938673

Summary

This study tested a new approach to help people with Parkinson's disease who have trouble walking. Researchers combined a non-invasive magnetic stimulation treatment on the spine with treadmill training to see if it improved walking speed, balance, and reduced the risk of falls better than treadmill training alone. The trial involved 76 participants with moderate Parkinson's to compare the real combination therapy against a placebo version.
