Magnetic brain therapy offers new hope for Tough-to-Treat schizophrenia

NCT ID NCT06672588

Summary

This study is testing whether Magnetic Seizure Therapy (MST) can work as well as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for people with schizophrenia who haven't responded to standard medications. Researchers will compare the two treatments in 80 participants who have tried at least two antipsychotic drugs without success. The goal is to see if MST can reduce psychotic symptoms while potentially causing fewer side effects than traditional ECT.
