First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving a single dose of magnesium sulfate before gallbladder surgery can lower the amount of morphine patients need afterward. About 106 adults having planned laparoscopic gallbladder removal will receive either magnesium or a placebo. The goal is to see if magnesium reduces pain and the need for strong painkillers, while also monitoring for side effects.
