Magnesium drip may ease Post-C-Section pain, new study hopes to prove

NCT ID NCT07528612

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests if a magnesium drip given after a C-section can lower pain and help new mothers recover faster. About 150 women having planned or non-urgent C-sections will be randomly assigned to receive either magnesium or a saltwater placebo. Neither the patient nor the care team will know who gets which. Pain levels, recovery, and bonding with the baby will be tracked via text-message surveys over three months.
