New balloon coated with drug aims to keep tiny heart arteries open

Summary
This study is testing a special balloon coated with a drug called sirolimus to see if it's safe and effective for treating narrowed small arteries in the heart. About 1,605 adults with coronary artery disease will be randomly assigned to receive either this new balloon treatment or a standard treatment. The main goal is to see if the drug-coated balloon helps prevent future heart problems related to the treated artery over 12 months.
