Magic mushrooms tested as potential breakthrough for untreatable OCD

NCT ID NCT06299319

Summary

This study is testing whether psilocybin, the active compound in 'magic mushrooms,' given with therapy can help people with severe obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) that hasn't improved with standard treatments. Ten participants will receive two guided psilocybin sessions to see if it's safe and if it reduces their OCD symptoms. The main goal is to gather initial data on whether this approach is feasible and effective for this hard-to-treat condition.
