First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at how natural plant compounds (flavonoids) from foods like berries and tea are broken down by gut bacteria into substances that may protect the brain. Researchers will measure these substances in the blood and stool of 100 adults aged 50 and older who have a family history of Alzheimer's. The goal is to understand the connection between diet, gut microbes, and cognitive decline.
