Summary

This study looks at how certain immune cells (macrophages) behave in gum disease around dental implants, called peri-implantitis. Researchers will collect tissue samples from 120 people with healthy or diseased implants, including smokers and non-smokers, to measure specific proteins linked to inflammation and healing. The goal is to better understand the disease process, not to test a new treatment.
