Warm machine could unlock thousands more livers for transplant

NCT ID NCT06088758

Summary

This study is testing a special machine that keeps donor livers warm and functioning outside the body. The goal is to see if this machine can safely prepare moderately fatty livers, which are often discarded, for transplantation. If successful, this could significantly increase the number of usable donor livers available for patients on the waiting list.
