First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new drug called M701, a bispecific antibody, in people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has caused fluid buildup in the chest (malignant pleural effusion). The drug is given directly into the chest cavity to target cancer cells and help control the fluid. The trial will enroll about 96 participants to check safety, side effects, and how well the drug works.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

M701 (a bispecific antibody targeting EpCAM and CD3)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a new treatment option to control fluid buildup in the chest caused by advanced lung cancer, improving breathing and quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial with a small number of participants, so the treatment may not work or could cause significant side effects. The results may not apply to all patients.
