New screening program aims to stop debilitating swelling in breast cancer survivors

NCT ID NCT05056207

Summary

This study is testing whether more frequent screening for arm swelling (lymphedema) after breast cancer surgery can help prevent this painful side effect. Researchers are comparing intensive screening using a special measuring device against routine care in 260 patients. The goal is to see if catching swelling early leads to better prevention and lower healthcare costs.
